General information
Here you define the global settings for handling hard and soft bounces.
Deactivation threshold
Define the thresholds of successive events after which a contact may no longer be contacted. A distinction is made between hard bounces (generally or permanently undeliverable) and soft bounces (temporarily undeliverable, chance of later deliverability).
Hard bounces
In any case, the selection should be left at "CSA-compliant" so as not to endanger our or your reputation. Please change this setting only after consulting our delivery management! The Certified Senders Alliance (CSA) only allows 3 consecutive hard bounces before dispatches to the respective contact have to be stopped. As a result, only the values 1, 2 or 3 consecutive hard bounces are available in the second selection list. For the selection “user-defined” in the first list, however, a value between 1 and 10 consecutive hard bounces can be selected in the second list.
Soft bounces
The following values are available here:
- deactivated: Contacts that cause soft bounces will continue to be written to, regardless of the number of successive soft bounces
- 1-10 successive soft bounces: the system tries to deliver 1-10x e-mails to the recipient depending on the value set. Further delivery attempts will then be stopped.
